Concrete floor repair is the first stage of most floors we coat. Failing paint and kit coatings are ground off, cracks are filled, broken joints are rebuilt and low spots are levelled. Our insurance covers repairs, and every fix gets its own line on the quote.
Years of brine plus repeated freezing make an older garage slab shed thin flakes and develop pits. That flaking is called spalling, and it is very common in older garages around Bowmanville, Courtice and Newcastle.
The loose surface is ground away and the low areas are rebuilt with a repair mortar. Once the slab is solid again, a coating keeps the salt from getting back in. A garage floor coating is the usual next step.
Peeling paint and kit coatings, common in Courtice garages from the 1980s and 1990s, must come off completely before a new floor can bond. Diamond grinding removes them and also opens up the concrete underneath.
Covering a failing layer only hides the problem for a season or two. Stripping it first is the most important repair of all.
Most cracks come from the slab shrinking as it cures or from ground movement below. Moving cracks get a flexible filler, and dormant ones get a hard epoxy filler.
Broken joint edges in shops and warehouses are rebuilt with a strong repair compound so carts and forklifts roll over them smoothly. Repairs get quoted job by job, one line per fix.
Phone (289) 207-4813 and describe the cracks, pits or peeling. We will look them over and send a concrete floor repair quote that also covers any coating to follow. Everything else we offer is on the home page.
