Garage Floor Coating
Garage floor coating that keeps brine, sand and warm tires from wrecking the slab, laid on ground concrete under flake and a polyaspartic clear coat.
View Garage Floor CoatingA speckled chip floor hides dust and small scuffs, adds texture underfoot and comes in dozens of colour blends to suit a home or shop.
The floor starts as a coloured epoxy base with vinyl chips tossed across it while it is still tacky. Once that base hardens, any loose chips get knocked down and vacuumed off before a clear coat seals everything. Insurance applies here too, and the colour blend is named on your quote.
A speckled finish hides the sand, salt marks and tire dust that a solid colour would show. That makes flake epoxy flooring the top request for Clarington garages, mudrooms and laundry rooms.
The chips also give the surface a light texture. With grit in the clear coat, the floor keeps its grip when snow drips off a truck or water spills from the washer.
Chip coverage comes in light, medium or full. A full broadcast hides the base completely and gives the most texture, while a lighter broadcast lets more of the base colour show.
Grey and tan blends are the favourites in newer areas like Brookhill and Southeast Courtice, because they match light siding and trim. Samples come along to the visit so you can see them on your own concrete, in your own light.
The clear coat is what guards the chips from tire scuffs and salt. Flake epoxy flooring in a garage is usually finished with a clear polyaspartic floor coating, which is hard, fast to cure and resists yellowing.
In basements a clear epoxy or urethane can work just as well, since there are no hot tires or road salt to deal with. The choice is explained on your quote.
Speckled floors are not only for houses. They work well in staff rooms, clinics, small offices and service counters, where a busy floor needs to look clean between moppings.
For heavier traffic, the flake system can sit on a thicker base, the same way our shop floor coating is built.
Phone (289) 207-4813 and ask us to bring the sample board. We will show the blends on your slab and leave an itemized flake epoxy flooring quote with the colour, coverage and clear coat named. The home page lists our other floors.
Plenty of houses end up with two systems, such as a speckled garage and a coated basement.
